In the village of Keembe, the lives of many people depend on rain fed subsistence crop farming, which leaves them vulnerable to the dire effects of climate change. To combat climate change effect vulnerability, the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources together with Africa 2000 Network and the United Nations Development Programme developed an initiative to localise the Millennium Development Goals. The impact of the programme helped the people of Keembe to turn their lives around, provide support to their families and dream bigger and better things for the future. |
