The Government of the Republic of Zambia through the Climate Change Facilitation Unit with the support of United Nations Development Programme has begun formulating a National Climate Change Response Strategy. The framework will ensure the Zambian economy and the livelihood of Zambians is protected from negative impacts of climate change. |

The First President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency Dr. Kenneth Kaunda joined the United Nations and Standard Chartered Bank in a tree planting exercise at the Beit-Cure Children’s Hospital in Lusaka on 3 June. On the following Saturday, 5 June, Mr. Macleod Nyirongo, the UN Resident Coordinator in Zambia together with Government counterparts, private sector, NGOs, UN colleagues, and many environmentally consciously Zambians commemorated World Environment Day 2010 at Munda Wanga Botanical Gardens. |
